O.M. Hartsell Excellence in Teaching Music Award

The O.M. Hartsell Excellence in Teaching Music Award is named for the 1963-1965 AMEA President. This award is given to those members who have demonstrated exceptional ability as a teacher of music.

Criteria for the O.M. Hartsell Teaching Music Award:

Please upload a minimum of two recommendation letters that address the following characteristic traits of your nominee for the O.M. Hartsell Teaching Music Award:

  • Must be a full active member of the Arizona Music Educators Association
  • Has taught a minimum of 7 years
  • Demonstrates exceptional ability as a teacher of music and exhibits dedication to a comprehensive music education program
  • Regularly participates in professional growth opportunities including the AMEA conference or other AMEA-recognized professional development opportunities
  • Displays a cooperative and positive attitude towards colleagues.
  • Demonstrates the highest ideals and professional integrity
